High Protein Cricket Guacamole


-3 medium avocados

-1/2 yellow onion (finely chopped)

-1/2 bunch cilantro (finely chopped)

-1 jalapeno (minced)

-1 oz lime juice (fresh squeezed is ideal)

-4 Tbs Cricket Powder (21 grams complete protein)

-2 cloves garlic (minced) or 1 tsp granulated garlic

-1 tsp corriander

-1/2 tsp sea salt


Slice the avocados in half and remove the pits. Scoop out the avocado with a spoon and place in a large mixing bowl. Add all other ingredients. Mash with a potato masher or fork until the avocado is as chunky or creamy as you like it.

Alternatively the ingredients can go in a food processor and blended that way.

Notes and Tips:

This recipe makes about 4 servings.

The 4 Tbs of Cricket Powder in this recipe will add 21 grams of complete protein in total. Each serving will have 250% RDA of vitamin B-12.

For a garlic free version of this recipe just omit the garlic, still tastes great.

Also want to reiterate that fresh squeezed limes are the preference over lime juice in a bottle, but hey work with what you got.

Pro Tip:

Keep the guacamole from turning brown in the fridge by placing half or quarter of an onion on the surface of the guacamole. Cover with an airtight lid or plastic wrap.
